Rover Metro 1.4 Diesel Project
Project: ROVER METRO 1360cc Diesel. How the project came to be!!
This is a project of mine, after quite a few years restoring classic
Fords, I thought I would have a go at restoring an ordinary everyday fairly modern car
(something approximately 10years old).
So I got hold of a Rover Metro,
getting on for 10 years old and average condition for its age, though
it looks in very good condition on the outside it does have a fair
share of rust 'n' rot in the places you don't see, some places quite
badly corroded. The aim of this project is to rebuild the bodyshell
with new replacement body panels and to do it as cheaply as possible.
This page is the dairy of the rebuild. The Metro was purchased on the
9th July 02, it was one of 2 metro's purchased from a local car
dealer as Trade clearances. It's a part restoration and possible
light customizing with a modest body kit for this little 1360cc Rover
Metro 'Sport Diesel'. I can hear you all now saying "Its a Metro, has he finally gone and lost the plot or what???",
as you know, I'm a big fan of Diesels in general, and wanted to do something completely
